Located in Nelly Bay on Magnetic Island, surrounded on 2 sides by Magnetic Island National Park, Amaroo On Mandalay sits on an area of 10 acres, has a large Magnesium Salt Pool, Wading Pool, large open spaces, tennis courts, function rooms, gymnasium, BBQ area and playground.

Our Magnetic Island resort boasts lush tropical grounds that house a variety of units available – different styles and sizes to suit all budgets and enough units to house bigger groups.
Our rooms are fitted with a flat-screen TV. Some rooms have a seating area for your convenience. Our units feature a private bathroom complete with shower and toilet. For your comfort, you will find free toiletries and a hairdryer.
All of our units also come with a kitchenette featuring a fridge, kettle and kitchen essentials for your stay.
All of our units have an outdoor patio to sit and relax on, while there you may be lucky enough to have a visit from some of the local wildlife.
Amaroo On Mandalay does not have free wi-fi at this time outside of reception.
Amaroo On Mandalay is ideally located in Nelly Bay where the ferry docks. The Picnic Bay Bus stops right at the front of Amaroo On Mandalay. Should you miss the bus we also have a free shuttle to and from the terminal – subject to availablity.

Dinner at the restaurant was really enjoyable the meals were cooked perfectly and great value loved feeding the birds on the balcony as well.The receptionist was super friendly and at the end of our stay one of the team ran back for something I left behind before our bus picked us up…very good service beautiful location surrounded by wildlife bush and gardens Will definitely come back to stay again
Fantastic place to stay for the whole family at a very affordable price! I expected much less for the price but was blown away by the size and comfort of the room. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly and the food is amazing. This place has everything you could want in a Magnetic Island hotel / resort and I couldn’t recommend it enough. I will be back soon!!!
Management went over and above to make our stay fantastic – very friendly and helpful people. The chef’s meals were outstanding especially the French Toast for brekkie. The barman and wait staff were efficient and accommodating for our last minute requests. Had a wonderful stay and a relaxing weekend, highly recommend Amaroo.
Located 1.4km from the Ferry Terminal, it’s an easy walk or a quick bus ride. Having a restaurant and bar on site with a nice pool is great if you want to sit around and not go anywhere. The rooms were clean and comfortable.
